New Products in the shop

It's that time of year again, almost Christmas. I've been hard at work making stock for some upcoming events (more on that later) and my Etsy shop.

New pieces include the cute initial charm necklaces and bracelets (all letters currently in stock!). My favourite is the lasercut moustache brooch.

As mentioned before, details of Christmas markets and stockists this year to follow soon.

Do have a peek at my shop and let me know what you think. Also, if you live in Bristol let me know before you order, you get free postage!

Olo Worms - back in business

It's been 2 years in the making (possibly longer), but Bristol band @oloworms are back with their album, Yard Is Open.

I'm particularly enjoying the 'website remix', a different front page to www.oloworms.co.uk every couple of days by a different designer.

You can watch Strays, their new EP featuring Rosi Plain by clicking here.

The band will be playing over the summer:

- Awaygame Festival in Scotland from Friday 20th July - Sunday 22nd July 2012.
- The Louisiana, Bristol on Friday 10th August 2012
- The Old Police Station, Deptford on SAturday 11th August 2012
- Bristol Rise Records (in store) on SAturday 24th August 2012

Check their spamtastic Facebook page for more details, or follow the twitter timeline for updates.

Review of Yard is Open can be found here:

Let me know what you think.

Where did I go?

No posts for 5 months, where did I go? I planned a wedding, got married, went on honeymoon and got a new job. That's quite a lot in a short space of time. Maybe I'll take it easy now. Or maybe not.

My purchases
If you follow me on Twitter you won't have failed to have noticed that I have the honour of my jewellery being sold in the Smithson Gallery Pop-Up until Christmas Eve. I met Anna, the owner of The Smithson Gallery, on a screenprinting course at Spike Island Print in 2009. The Smithson Gallery was still in it's beginnings at this stage and Anna has worked tirelessly to make it the success it is today.

The Smithson Gallery regularly participates in shows, exhibitions and pop-ups across the UK including The Affordable Art Fair, Pulse and Top Drawer. I love the selection of artists that Anna as chosen, my particular favourites include Charlotte Farmer, Annie & Amelia, Jason Lilley & Annie Little to name a few.

Anna's latest venture is part of the Pop-Up Bristol scheme which is running until Christmas Eve 2011. Occupying the spacious shop in Glass Walk in the prestigious Cabot Circus shopping area, Anna has created a winter wonderland of local designers and artists.

You have just 11 days left to shop! Pop on by and say hello and pick up some gorgeous unique gifts made by local designers. While you're in the neighbourhood, do check out the other pop-up shops, Upfest and Bristol Creatives.

The Smithson Gallery is open 7 days a week from 10am until 8pm until 2pm Saturday 24th December 2011. Don't miss it!

Two Typewriters

My Olivetti Typewriter

Today prompted two conversations about typewriters. The first being as upgrades for laptops and computers in my office are happening. Imagine if I regressed back to a typewriter while everyone else moves forward with their shiny new laptops. Keep your fingers crossed.

Secondly, whilst flicking through the Metro today I discovered this article about the Chromatic Typewriter (pic at the top). It uses paint instead of ink to create pictures (and it is of course an Olivetti - like mine!). Have a read and tell me what you think.
