Heinz Junkins most recent clients are music duo
Silver Columns. Heinz Junkins worked with them to produce album artwork, promo artwork, live visuals for gigs and festivals this summer and a redesign of their website. Silver Columns album 'Yes and Dance' is out on 31st May 2010. The 12" single, 'Cavalier' is out now.
We caught up with Heinz to ask some questions:
K&B: What's your name and where do you come from?
Heinz Junkins.
I'm originally from Hertford, now i'm living in Bristol.
K&B: How did you get into making and designing?
HJ: Don't think i ever got into it, i've always been making and designing for as long as i've known myself. I was designing made-up film posters when i was about 5 or 6. I love the buzz of a brand new idea and imagining the end product. I could'nt stop making things even if i tried, i've got something inside me nagging me all the time to create stuff. The challenge is having the energy to see the idea through to the end.
K&B:. Where do you get your inspiration from?
HJ: Even though its true.. 'Everywhere!' is a pretty standard answer. So i'll say i get my inspiration from the places i havn't been to yet. Mainly places that don't exist. Dreams are a great inspiration to me too.
K&B. What makes your products different?
HJ: I shout abuse at them just after i've finished making them so they are ready for the tough world out there.
K&B. What do you enjoy most about being a part of Etsy?
HJ: If i'm honest i'm not that bothered about Etsy. I do like that
Regretsy site though. There's some properly brilliant art on there.
K&B. What are your favourite websites for inspiration?
HJ: Anything i see or hear that i like i put up on my blog -

K&B: Can you describe your typical day?
HJ: HA! I'd rather not, its tooo depressing.(K&B Note - You can follow
HeinzJunkins on Twitter).K&B: What's the most embarassing thing you've ever done?
HJ: God! Jesus! Me, that i've done?..woooah boy! There's been quite alot in the last year when playing live in my band.
Maybe the time i did a Woody Guthrie impression with a wooden mask and a can of fly spray. it went on a bit too long.
K&B: Do you have any hints/tips or advice for other Etsy sellers?
HJ: Don't try too hard...or maybe that's just the bad advice my brain gives me and i'm being tricked by my brain into passing that on to you as my advice??
